FAQs

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A:  Unfortunately at this time we do not accept/file insurance.  This allows us to spend more time with each patient.  Our physician is considered an out of network provider.  If you have out of network benefits you can use these to help pay for our services. At the end of your visit, you will be given a bill that you can submit to your insurance company. You will also be given step-by-step instructions on how to file with your insurance company.

If you have out of network benefits you can use these these to help pay for services.  Most of the laboratory tests and radiology services we order will go through your insurance except for a few specialist test most patient’s will not need.     Patients  can use their health savings account to pay for the care they receive at Mission Functional Medicine.

Q:   Do you see Medicare/Medicaid patients?

A:   At this time, Mission Functional Medicine is not accepting new Medicare/Medicaid patients.

Q:   If you don’t take my insurance will my insurance company pay for labs and imaging tests?

A:  Many of the labs I may order will be covered by your insurance.  I will give you a prescription that you can take to any lab to have your labs drawn.   We have accounts with LabCorp , Quest and Genova Diagnostics.  LabCorp and Quest file with your insurance and charge you your co-pay when your labs are drawn.  Genova does not take all insurances.

Q:  If you don’t take insurance will my medications be covered by my insurance company?

A:  Most prescription medications are covered by insurance.  Which medications are covered and what co-pay is required depends on the medication and the insurance company.  If for whatever reason your insurance company denied paying for a prescription medication, our office would be happy to fill out the necessary forms to try and get the medication covered.

Q:  Are Vitamins and supplements covered by my insurance?

A:  Vitamins and supplements are likely not covered by your insurance company. With a prescription you can use your Health Savings Account to pay for vitamins as long as you have a prescription.
